Organic Flax Seeds
These seeds have a high oil content, and although the oil is relatively stable while the seed is intact, refrigeration is recommended to slow the oxidation process and prolong the life of the seed. Organic Flax Seeds (also called “linseeds”) are very high in fiber, and if crushed you will benefit from the high Omega 3 Fatty Acids.
Flavor – bland, slightly green-grassy taste if eaten raw or plain.
Chaya’s Tip: I pulse this for a few seconds in a coffee grinder and put it into my bread to increase the nutritional value and to give it a slight nutty flavor and texture.
