The Jar

There is no great symbol to kitchen self-sufficiency than the canning jar.   Canning, dehydrating, even replacing the glass jar on your blender or walking out the door with a travel “cup”–this is just where the jar starts.  We have yet to mention homesteading creativity found in homemade candles or lanterns, vases, or storage containers.
