Description
Pomona’s Universal Pectin is sugar-free and preservative-free. It is low-methoxyl citrus pectin that is activated by calcium. It jells without sugar, and so you can use very little sugar, no sugar, or an alternative to sweeten it. Some possible sweeteners are: honey, fructose, maple syrup, sucanat, fruit juice concentrate, agave, stevia, xylitol, or other natural or artificial sweeteners.
Each 1 oz. box contains a packet of pectin and a packet of calcium powder, along with a sheet of directions and recipes. Feel free to create your own recipes–you are not tied to the recipes like you are with traditional pectin! Each box makes 2-4 recipes, and will last the average home all season. This product has a very long shelf life–it can be used indefinitely.
